Donna is extremely well qualified for this event, because she is not only an accomplished photographer, she also serves on the Fayette County Arts Council and is an active member of many different groups promoting the arts.  She has juried and curated numerous photography exhibits throughout the Atlanta area; and is always willing to share her expertise and knowledge to help others become better at photography.

AUGUST  --  PSTC Session

PSTC is our new adventure of Photography Show & Tell & Critique.  The theme is Spring.  Bring 3 photographs, in Jpeg format, on a USB flash drive.  This will be our opportunity to start the conversation of reviewing our photographs with each other and getting input that is critical to learning and strengthening our work.

A good critique involves both objective and subjective qualities.  Objective, as there are set technical aspects that can be considered, but also subjective, as everyone has their own personal preferences.  Many times a critique can be used collectively to consider where your photography is now and where you would like it to be.  Critique does not mean criticism.  It does mean conversation.  It can simply be a suggestion of a slight variation or an idea to try something different.  More importantly, it can help you understand how others see your work.

Everyone wants to present their best photographs for others to enjoy. You might also be considering submitting to an exhibit or competition.  It takes courage to offer your work for critique, but in doing so, you give yourself an added opportunity to strengthen your technical and artistic skills.

Responsible critique is one path that will help you develop and strengthen your style and develop your vision for your photography.  Sharing in critique sessions not only helps you when you receive input on your work, but also helps you as you give input on the work of other photographers.
