January 16, 2019 – “How to Prepare for Competitions” with Tom Simpson

2019 01 BuffleheadWednesday, January 16, 2019 @ 7:00 pm

NEW LOCATION--Alpharetta Arts Center – 238 Canton Street, Alpharetta, GA. (Corner of Canton St. and Mayfield Rd.) Overflow parking, if required, will be along Canton Street.

Doors will open at 6:30 pm. 6:30 to 7:00 pm will be time for socializing. Presentation will begin at 7:15 pm.

Members as well as interested potential members are invited to join us.

Each of us has probably taken hundreds if not thousands of photos during our photographic journey. We believe that some of these photos should be award winners. The challenge can be what we need to do to have a good chance that our photos will be viewed during a competition. Join Tom Simpson on Jan 16th, as he provides information on how to prepare for competitions.

As a bonus, Tom will also critique some photos this evening as well. The critique will be for electronic submission only, no prints. This is not a competition but allows for some feedback on our photos. Photos for the critique should be submitted to Everett Sizemore at no later than 11:00 pm on Jan 4, 2019.

Guidelines for photos to be critiqued are—

Maximum of 2 submissions per person;

Nature related photography (landscape, macro, wildlife, sunrise/sunset, etc);

Photos can be taken any time;

Photos must be resized to 1200 pixels on the long side;

No Watermarks;
