 2019 07 Lubec Puffin Trip

Puffin Boat Trips:

Puffins:  There will be two half-day trips, using Bold Coast Charters, from Cutler, ME to Machias Seal Island, the summer home to spectacular nesting colonies of Atlantic puffins, Razorbills, Common Murres and Arctic terns, among others. Machias Seal Island is the largest puffin colony on the coast of Maine! Two trips are scheduled to increase the chance that at least one day will provide some good shooting.

Caveat Note: There are no guarantees you will get on the island since weather can either cancel a trip (in which case the fee for that day would be refunded) or prevent landing on the island when shooting will be limited to being from a boat near the island in which case there would be no refund.

Your shooting on the island will be in a very tight space in 3 or 4-person blinds, so no tripods allowed. But the puffins will be almost within arm’s length of your lens.  Reservations for these two days will be made by January 1st and there can be no change.

Because there is only one trip a day from Maine, these trips fill up very quickly.   The overall schedule for this trip is directly dependent on getting 2 days of reservations between 27th of June and 1st of July.

Whale Watch:  A whale watch is included and will take place on one afternoon leaving from the Inn.
